Aging

Journalism students covered the Aging beat during spring semester 2014.

Student-journalists in Professor Mangun’s class were: Marissa Bodily; Nichole Butters; Keith Lamar McDonald; Ian Smith; and Stacey Worster.

They reported on a variety of topics, people and issues in the community, including: aging in place, Meals on Wheels, and a mobile hairdressing service.

Students in Geoffrey Fattah’s intermediate reporting class covered the Aging beat during fall semester 2009. Students learned about what it means to become older in our society. Their stories included a look at aging and sexuality, how older refugees cope with change later in life, and the toll injuries take on seniors who were once professional football players.
