Students in Geoffrey Fattah’s intermediate reporting class covered pro bono legal organizations spring semester 2009. Students learned about the justice system and organizations that offer free and low-cost legal help for people who are disabled, financially disadvantaged, or are victims of domestic abuse. Their stories include profiles of women who are trying to re-build their lives after escaping violent relationships, a woman who is hearing and visually impaired trying to find her voice as a victim in the court system and the mother of an autistic child trying to spread awareness of her son’s condition within the public school system.
